Been chatting with some members of another unofficial community, and I was wondering if we could get a bold disclaimer added to the Friend Code Sharing page -- Basically, Raijinili makes a great point that you can only redeem one code, and if the other party doesn't hit Chapter 3, you're gonna have a bad time...
Thanks for the update, but it is oriented toward people redeeming rather than people referring, and it's the people referring that need the info. There have been people who got burned by posting on this wall and getting their redeeming slots filled by people who don't finish chapter 3. (Once ten people redeem, no one else can redeem your code, even if none of the ten reach chapter 3.)
One more thing. This is pointless at best, misleading at worst:
When posting your code, let us know a few other details about you:
What time (with time zone) do you normally play Terra Battle?
What Adventurers do you use and what level are they?
What are your preferred events to play? (Special Events, Story Missions, etc)
There's no way to use the code to contact or room with the referrer. They need out-of-game contact to do anything past that.
I agree with the above poster. The page intro needs to be reworded, and the word "invite" needs to be removed in every instance. Too many poeple think this code is to create a friend base or connection with other players, and asking them to provide info about themselves, team, play time, levels, is only furthering that misunderstanding. They keep begging for invite, invite invite and do not understand what the codes are actually for. I took the liberty of rewording your page info, see below:
Once a player redeems your code, and completes Chapter 3, you will receive an in-game reward. Your code can be redeemed by 10 players and you will receive a reward for each, so long as they complete Chapter 3.
Posting your code here is no guarantee of receiving referral rewards. If a player uses your code without completing Chapter 3, you lose the reward PERMANENTLY. Post at your own risk.
This is a referral system designed to expand the player base, it does NOT create an in game friend list or any kind of link between you and the player who uses your code. Posting your referral code here will not help you find or be invited to join co-op groups. The intent of the referral system is to reward you for bringing new people to Terra Battle; people who are not already playing Terra Battle. They receive additional energy at the beginning of the game and you receive a reward for having brought a new player to the Terra Battle world.
"With Update 2.0.0 of Terra Battle, players can now share codes with other users to gain in-game benefits. Players can share their codes via email and LINE messenger."
The "share codes with other users" part is misleading. Can sound like a mutual thing. I don't know how to word it, though. This gets across the intention of the system: "Players can now get rewards for introducing new players to Terra Battle." Throughout the page, remove references to the redeemer as "player" and substitute "new player" or something else, so as not to suggest that they should be shared with existing players (otherwise, it brings to mind friend codes again). "Invited player"?
Also, make a note that each player can redeem a single code.
Hello, I'm not sure if you're the right person to contact, but you're the only staff/admin with any recent activity.
I'm contacting you because we currently don't have any active admins keeping the protected parts of the wikia up-to-date, or cleaning up the referral code spam on various pages. I was wondering if it might be time to find some new admins to keep up with these tasks. I'm sure there are quite a few qualified users in our community that would make good admins. However, if no one else is up for the job, though I haven't made as many edits yet, I would volunteer myself. But it doesn't really matter who it is, we just need someone to help moderate and update this wikia.
If the other admins are just in hibernation or you feel that we don't need any new admins, then I would like to at least request for the front page be editable for registered users. The gift code date on the front page hasn't been updated for a few months, and it would be nice to add a daily bonus tracker as well.
Hey there 64bit, thank you so much for reaching out.
After taking a look at the current admin situation, I definitely agree with you that we need some more regular help. Psuedobread is a member of the Wikia team but has his hands full with other projects. Myskaros was the sole active admin here for a while but it seems like his activity has declined over the past two months.
I'll let other members of staff know about the sitaution here and we'll either have an adoption drive, or we'll do some digging throughout the community to select some qualified candidates. Hopefully we'll be able to pull on some new admins sometime next week. In the meantime, I'm going to tend to those mainpage updates and get some of the referral code spam cleaned up about the wiki.
I might make a template that allows for registered users to edit the gift codes and daily trackers, it'll still be embedded on the mainpage but could allow active users to update that info if the admins are slow to it. I'll be sure to keep you updated on this process.
Daily bonuses rotate through a set of bonuses that loops every 15 days. The Daily Bonus page has a table with all the bonuses and should have enough information to set up the tracker. For example, today (Mar. 23) is "day 6", which means no bonuses, and tomorrow will be "day 7", which is Item drop rate up for chapters ending in a 4 or 9. Also, Chapter 1 is not included in these bonuses.
Awesome, thanks for that info. I'll place the info along the right rail with the Gift Code and Hunting Zone info. I'll be sure to make it an editible template for registered users as well. Should get it up before the end of the week. I'll let you know.
Also, with the admin situation, I've reached out to Celaeris to see if their interested in adminship duties. If the other two admins don't become more active over the next few weeks, I'll pull in one more (I'd consider you qualified for that if you're interested yourself).
This edit implies that referral codes are like friend codes. They're not. You (currently) have no way of contacting someone if you refer them, or vice versa, and you can't form a room with them unless you contact them directly.
I don't give a shit about how people uses his codes. It is in fact a way to speed up re-rolling, that ends with energy lost forever.
What I can't stand is how this wiki has become a gigant neon sign for referal code advertisement, made by anonimous users that never helped in this wiki in the first place.
If you guys want 22 Energy, make as I did: Create a new TB account in a different phone, and work you way till level 4 10 times. It's tedious, but you get your energy for sure without anoying other people!
Thanks for keeping the Download Starter stuff up to date! Just wanted to drop in and let you know that Mistwalker updated the graphic on the TB website with additional 100k rewards between 1.5mil and 2mil:
