Piz'fer long suffered from a complex over his meager magic. As the son of a doctor of mechanical engineering, he had a lot to live up to.
But an encounter with a wounded mini-orbling changed all that.
It had fallen through the ice of a frozen lake and was on the verge of death. Piz'fer valiantly risked his own life to rescue it.
The mini-orbling suffered damage to its motor nerves, but Piz'fer and his father built it a new body that restored its mobility.
The grateful mini-orbling sensed Piz'fers's woes and bolstered his magic with its own.
